Our Canon S400 printer has suddenly begun making a vertical line at the beginning and end of each line when it prints. Is this repairable? Thanks.

First thing to do is to run a Print Head Cleaning using the Canon Maintenance tab under the properties of you Canon printer located in Printers and Faxes.

Next would be to remove the ink cartridges and then remove the print head and clean it manually. You can try any of these methods: http://www.maxpatchink.com/canon-tips.shtml

If that all fails then you'll need to call Canon and order a replacement print head, or buy a replacement printer.

Thank you. Tried what you suggested. It looks like it is time for a new printer.
