i cant really notice any difference in visual but in performance when i have it on i lose like 5-10fps so i was wondering if it was like a special feature for some games or something... but thanks for the reply... illprobaby keep it off ... i guess if i cant see a difference no point in losing performance that i can see right :)

Vertical Sync locks your games refresh rate with that of your desktop's refresh rate settings. In UT2004 I getting visual tearing without this turned on. You'll have to experiment with it to see if it helps but in most cases you want to leave if off.
