    Greetings,

First, here are some brief specs on my laptop:

    Windows XP SP3
    Dell Inspirion 8600 Laptop
    (1) 1 Gig & (1) 256mg RAM

The basic problem is that the machine runs very slowly in all aspects, including web browsers, Word, and all other applications. Now this is interesting because about 1 day out of the week it we run normal, which is actually at a fine, fast speed. But most days, it is extremely slow. It has been like this for months now.

I've done an Avast! 5 scan which came up dry. And I've also done a HJT Scan with the results below. I will gladly provide any more information that is needed.

Just wanted to post a little more information in case it helps. I ran an Ad-Aware scan overnight and it only came up with some cookies (TAI 3) which were easily removed. I was actually hoping for more, but alas.

Please take your time...I appreciate the fact that people are taking time to help all of us!
