Fyzbo: The point of the picture isn't necessarily hero meeting hero evev though it says heroes...it's just to connotate they were met in Heaven by another group of souls in Heaven. I find it very touching. Take care. angel :)

First of all...

Look at what the space program and it's medical and scientific advances!

They have created or improved alot of the medical stuff that most people think as ordinary.

Also, they're working on the next frontier for civilization to live when the earth gets more overcrowded.

Also...a firefighter goes out on medical assistance calls and there's hardly a risk of life...

An Astronaut risks thier life with every launch and landing, as well as space walks and other duties/tasks/experiments in the vaccuum of space!

Astronauts are BIGGER heros than alot of firefighters!

I have to agree with Fysbo on this one....you just can't compare the two. I put the people who lost their lives in the Twin Towers at the top of the hero list. They are truly what being a hero is all about.

In today's age robots could do what human beings do in space. Putting humans at risk in space right now is just for prestige only. It makes the tax payers think better about where their taxes are going when a human factor is involved.

Ok said my bit and I'll leave for you to chew on it.
 :p

Without jumping into the semantics of these discussions, I just wanted to say that I really enjoy both of those cartoons. Thanks for posting them!

That's fair.
Perhaps a different thread to discuss the future of space exploration would be much more appropriate.;)

I have removed all but one of the cartoons that I posted.
It is pretty easy to jump aboard when the thread gets hijacked the way this one had been.
