Hi,

I’m very new to this site, so apologies If this isn’t the correct sub forum. I have a small laptop that has 1 VGA port on it and I was wondering what I would need to buy to connect this to one or two HDMI Monitors?

Hey,

I have a Lenovo IdeaPad S145 15.6in Athlon laptop I bought from Argos. This only seems to have one HDMI port and I was wondering if this could support/run two 24 inch monitors and what would I need to buy to do this?

Hi Luke
You need an adapter something like this vga adapter or This one
If you go to 2 monitors you will have the same image on both.
If you want a different image on both monitors you will need a spare usb port One of these.
Shop around for cheaper prices this is just so you know what you are looking for.

Cheers

I've merged both of your threads together since they are basically the same topic.

To confirm, this model does not have USB-C, it only has USB-A 2.0 and USB-A 2x 3.1 ports, along with HDMI. The third link PeterOz mention would be needed if you wanted a second monitor on USB along with one connected to HDMI.

You may want to consider a USB 3 Docking station if you are planning on having two monitors, like this one for example: USB Docking Station GIQ USB C Hub USB 3.0 to Dual HDMI Dock, that way if you need to move your laptop, you don't need to disconnect so many cords. just the one (or two if the laptop needs power and the dock doesn't provide it)
