vga to hdmi converter?

    I have an hp desktop running windows xp that i wanted to use my samsung 32 in led tv as a monitor for so i bought a vga to hdmi converter from amazon , got it hooked it up with vga and hdmi cables plugged the hdmi cable in to tv and i dont know why but i get no image on tv at all, i dont know if it maybe just isnt compatible or what but i feel like i been scammed please help with possible solutions, thank you!

    VGA to HDMI converters aren't reliable. I tried once and video quality was very poor.

    The last time I bought an LED TV it came with VGA input. I wonder what's the trend now.

    Those cables are generally useless, you would need a real converter to take the analog VGA signal and convert it to a digital HDMI signal.

    So the computer only has VGA? No DVI either? What is the exact model of the HP you have and what graphics card do you have? If the TV doesn't have VGA, many do, then your best option is to buy a graphics card for your PC that has HDMI output.
