    i just bought a geforce 256-32MB but i;m afraid to plug it cos i read on the box"because the card GPU consumes alot of power dont use v6600mx with the main board witch AGP power is provided by linear regulator "how can i check this.

    Only one way to find out, plug it in and see if it works. If the power supply doesn't have enough it just won't work.

    There are not that many boards that don't support it, but some of the older ones had a problem.

    It won't damage the card, it just underpowers the card and it either won't work at all or will suffer from frequent lockups.
