video card comparison

    any opinions on how these two cards compare?

    XFX GeForce 6600GT 128MB DDR3 PCI Express
    ATI RADEON 9800 PRO 128MB AGP VIDEO CARD VGA DVI TVOUT

    Well, for one thing, they use 2 different slots...the 6600GT is PCI-Express, and the 9800 Pro is AGP, you have to see what slot your motherboard has first. If you do have PCI-E, then get the 6600GT, as it does perform better than the 9800 Pro.

    You can get a 6600 GT in an agp slot.

    Yea, they have them, just checked Newegg and they're there. Make sure your motherboard is AGP first though...

    Ive read nothing but bad thingd about XFX cards, and their support.

    Word is don't get the PCIe yet, wait a while. Seems it's not fully optimized yet, you'd get better system performance from an AGP card still.
