Okay,

Usually, when I set the video settings to my game--Warcraft III--to full blast, I seldom get crashes. I have an ATI Radeon 9200 series (nothing too snazzy), have the latest direct X download and am up-to-date with updates. Though, I still get these crashes, accompanied by a certain "We have encountered a problem" popup from WinXP indicating something about VGA '-------'. I don't remember what it exactly says, but for the next time it happens, I'll be sure to take a mental note..

Anyway, I was wondering if there's a possible way to prevent this from happening, since it always causes me displeasure while in a 'challenging & enjoyable' match, always bestowing me with a loss. It's not that I care about the loss, but it has been happening quite frequently, and it's getting on my nerves. Any insight would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Me.

Do you think your card or something could be overheating? Have you made sure the fan on your video card is overheating and your case is clean?

Maybe download some software to monitor temps and then see how hot the video card gets after gaming.

I had a 9200 that would crash like that during a game, changing the AGP rate to 4x in the bios solved it for me with no noticable loss in performance.
