What do I have to know to but a new video card? Upgraded from win95b to Win Me. Now can't load any Apps. Message is that I need at least 256 colors and with Multiple Display Support. Only have 16 colors. Downloaded new driver from supplier, doesn't work. So will buy one if I can determine which is the right one. Thanks.

Try deleting the video in Safe Mode and reboot. Windows will rediscover it and may set it up correctly. Once in Safe Mode select Start, Control Panel, System, Device Manager, and delete the video.

To restart Windows 98 or Windows Me in Safe Mode:
    1. Restart the computer.
    2. During restart, hold down the Ctrl key until the Windows 98 startup menu appears.
    3. Choose Safe Mode from the startup menu, and press Enter. Windows starts in Safe Mode.
