is there such a thing as a free video driver update without getting lumbered with a free driver scan that just tells me wot i already no (your video driver not uptodate?) ty for any one that can help me:)

Err, no. You shouldn't use any programs to check any of your drivers. Go to your graphics card manufacturer's site:
http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx OR
http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index5.aspx?lang=en-us
And get the latest drivers from there. Don't use the automatic tool, just insert the data asked in the manual search.
If you don't actually have an add-on video card (Radeon X200 onboard, Intel GMA, Nvidia 9100, etc etc onboard graphics), then you won't fin the drivers from there, go to the computer or motherboard manufacturer site for drivers.
