I have built a new system with the following:
ASUS M2V-MX SE MB
AMD 6400
4gb DDR2 800mhz Ram
Radeon HD3650 PCIe Video (512mb)
360gb SATA Hard Drive (Maxtor 7200rpm)
SONY CDRW IDE
650w Power supply - (ULTRA LSP 650 WATT)
OS is Windows XP SP2 (Fresh Install)
The Problem:
System works well in Window the issue is have is video performance in games. For example in World of Warcraft I will get and average of 75fps for about a minute and then the fps will drop to 1fps for about 3 - 5 seconds and then back to 75fps. This happens every 2 - 3 minutes making the game unplayable. I have also tried a NVidia 8600 with the same problem. Plus I see video issues in other games like Call to Duty 4.
The BIOS was updated to support the 800mhz Ram to Rev.0406 and BIOS configuration is default setup.
I am thinking this might be something in the System BIOS setting but with so many options and changes i am not sure where to begin. Any ideas?
