hi there,

Does anybody know of a company that allows you to subscribe to having a remote computer on the Internet, not just for hosting websites, but for using as a proper Virtual PC?

Thanks, Andi

I don't understand your question. Why would you have to "subscribe to having a remote computer on the internet"? Why not just connect your own computer, or any virtual machine of your choice, to the internet?

If you are asking if there are services that will lease you a computer, or an entire virtual machine on a physical computer, the answer is "yes". Check with any hosting company. You also could rent a slot in a network operations center and put your own machine in.

The Google OS is probably the closest you will get aside from a connection to a work system as a terminal over a VPN. The Google OS is not much more than a browser and everything is hosted online.
