    Hello all,
I just installed linux Mandrake 7.1 on a spare PC to check it out.

I've heard of a program called "Virtual PC". It's supposed to allow you to run MS programs on linux or Mac.

    Is this a good program??
Does anyone know where I could download it from??

Is there other options that'll let me run some of my old programs and games on linux??

    Thanks

I did a very quick overview of this, and it looks like it will run up to win95 programs, but what about win98 and up

I haven't used it myself but I am pretty sure it should run alot of win98 apps as well.

Thanks, once I get the modem working, I'll download it and check it out.

I'm still finding my way through this OS for now

the virtual pc under Linux is actually VMWare for Linux. VMWare is a program that lets you run "virtual machines." IT IS NOT A WINDOWS EMULATOR. It actually runs windows in a little windows using virtual hardware, which is based off your own hardware. go to http://www.vmware.com and read up on it before you find out you need a windows disk to install with. :)
