I have been using Virtual PC by Connectix to establish temporary test platforms. It has been bought out by Microsoft since I bought my copy of Connectix VPC. I downloaded the trial version of MS VPC, installed it, and found that MS has added nothing to the product and has actually made it more difficult to work with and limited its usefulness.

Does anyone have any experience with these programs?

I don't know if Virtual PC is better since Microsoft bought it (it sounds like it isn't), but you might look into Insignia Solutions' emulation products. I've lost touch (I supported Soft Windows 95, left just before Soft Windows 98 came out), but at that time Insignia was much better than Connectix (who also brought you the infamous Ram Doubler).

VMWARE is another one that might be a better fit.
