    Hi Guys,

Just re-formatted a notebook for a friend because his would not open to windows. Well it would load but as soon as you could see the wallpaper it would freeze. The mouse would still work and you could see everything but nothing worked.

After re-formatting it and restarting it it does exactly the same thing!

Any ideas of whats causing this would be much appreciated!

    Thanks.

Probably bad hard drive. But check for bad ram, bad power supply as well.

How many ram chips do you have? If more than one, remove extras and run system with each one separately.

Power supply may be harder to determine. Test another one? Or a volt meter?

Just reformatted it for a second time and without installing any drivers or anything it runs fine. Nice and quick and everything seems to be in working order. Last time it started going slow after installing drivers. I have the original discs and everything so is there a better way to do it?

If everything is running fine, be happy and leave it ;)
