I have a Dell Dimension 4400 and a virus has attacked. It will let me in my desktop page with all my icons but it won't let me in any programs or the internet. It will pop up a screen saying I've been affected by a virus on that site and do I want to launch my virus protector. But it won't let me do that of course. What can I do. I did the F8 and command prompt and tried to put scanreg/restore but it said it wasn't a good prompt. Any ideas please that doesn't involve $200.00 and someone over the net fixing it.

Hi,

Sorry for delayed response. Forums have been really busy. If you still need help with this do following, please.

Download DDS and save it to your desktop from here or here or here.
Disable any script blocker, and then double click dds file to run the tool.
  • When done, DDS will open two (2) logs:
    1. DDS.txt
    2. Attach.txt
  • Save both reports to your desktop. Post them back to your topic.
