virus called startpage CD

    hi i was looking for info on a new virus.my daughter got it on her computor and its called startpageCD macaffee found it but says it cant delete it it allso said it couldnt quaratine it .has anyone seen this one and how can we get rid of it short of dumping hard drive uggg and she has windows xp thanks for your help..

    Start off by downloading HijackThis from here. Make a new folder for the program and then open it, click Scan. When it finishes scanning, do no remove anything but instead save the log and post it here.

    omg well i went and bought mcafee unistaller...thank you for your help:).... now i have a new question???i have a friend online that can im me but she use anything with her internet explorere she thinks something happen when her hubby checked out some sites,,,how can you fix IE i appreciate any help here
