    Hi everybody,
I have a pretty serious problem, serious enough for me to create an account and post here. As listed in this post http://forums.techguy.org/virus-other-malware-removal/943214-everyone-must-read-before-posting.html I downloaded HijackThis and saved a log file (which is pasted lower) but every other program the post says to download will not open. DDS, GMER, ComboFix, and OTL all display an error message that states "A device attached to the system is not functioning". It only say this though with specific programs on my system. Panda Recovery for instance will not start and shows the error, but Malwarebytes and TDSS killer still work. Both however have not helped finding the a fix to my problem. Microsoft Security Essentials also found 2 potential threats that have made multiple attempts at infection. They are Exploit:Java/CVE-2011-3544.gen!A and TrojanDownloader:Java/Rexec.I This unfortunately is all the information I am able to give you guys. I hope someone here can help me with this.

The current state of my system is that Windows refuses to boot. Upon starting the computer I am taken to black screen with a blinking cursor. I have a back up disk that I can boot and attempt a system restore from. I don't know though if this is the correct choice of action. Should I run system restore to try to fix this?
