virus in 98

    my friends comp. has win98 and ive downloaded norton 2003 and spybot but it freezes right in the middle while running and have to restart comp to get it back up and running when trying to shut down get the message of program not responing and end task cant figure it out

    sorry grammer is bad but both freeze about half way it will not run either program all the way they both stop at the same place every time

    is there a way to reboot the whole system from scratch with the disk that it came with

    No need to appologize for the grammer. Have you run scan disk (through) and defrag lately? If not I would boot into safe mode and then run both. Reboot and download Adaware/update/run/reboot.
