    Hello,

Just yesterday I went to some website and I noticed the java program loading up on my computer. Nothing happend after it loaded so I did not think much of it. I then noticed a icon on my startup bar and I double clicked it. The window that popped up showed up as the same one shown here:
    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal/remove-windows-scan
After all the false error messages showed up my start menu dissapeared and my computer restarted by itself. When it it restarted before it could even get to the windows xp loading screen a blue screen came up for like half a second and then restarted again.
I've tried to go into last known configuration and safe mode but it still same thing.

I had anti virus on the computer and behind a firewall supplied on my internet router which I thought would keep me safe from these things but I guess I was wrong.

Question is, what to do next?

I think the next step is to get rid of the virus so i am going to try and get spyware software and virus scanners on a usb stick to delete the virus from the computer first.

After that, do i just use the windows CD to do a repair?

Would my data still all be there? I assume the virus only dissabled windows and not erase the other data?

Information: I am on another computer than the one infected. It was a WinXP x64.
