Hey, Im ahving problems with (what I think is) a virus. my biggest problem is that it keeps changing its name. to random characters.theres 2 of these processes running, and I cant find what they are or where they come from.
My AVG doesn't pick it up, but Im still worried about it ( I know its not the best of the antiviruses but for a student on a budget its all I can afford) can post any logs, download any software etc taht is neceessary. Running vista ultimate x64, with AVG anti-virus, windows firewall.... thats all I can think of thats relevant.

I googled my problem and saw something similar on this site so thought id give it a try. thanks!

Viruses often change names. And the part that changes names is often generated by yet another program that is part of the infection. These can be hard to track down.

Try scanning with more than one AV (Use a free online scanner).

Post your problem in the Malware forum and read the sticky there about making a HijackThis log. An expert will get to you shortly and help you clean up.
