Hi, i have laptop with pre-installed vista...
I want to install linux (i don't want to remove vista)....
My intension to keep OS related stuff to respective drive and rest of part for the other things.... like drive C for vista, drive D for linux, rest of drives for other data.....
Can you please suggest me what is disk space require for vista to work fine... (hard disk size is 160Gb) ?

Make sure you have the Vista Restore disks already created if they did not send you disks.
Once you start playing with Linux, it will mess up the MBR so that if there is a restore partition it will probably become inaccessible.

The default size for a vista install is about 10G, you will need the ammount of ram times 3 for your page file, then you need to calculate the potential disk space for all programs you wish to install, plus slack free space. so, I would not go with less than 30 or 40 g.
