I have set the touchpads property in the mouse properties to a single tap a month ago... and now, when i go to control panel and and try to click on the mouse to see the properties the message 'unable to connect to the Synaptics pointing device driver' appears. when i cancell that another message appears saying 'Windows host process (Rundll32) has stopped working' I obviously am not a computer genius so I didn't know what to do to fix that and make my mouse properties work to change some settings. Please Help!!!!

Sorry, Can't help, since THAT'S THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM I JOINED THIS FORUM FOR!
Mouse pad, pointer, ,etc. Worked fine one day, next day, just hovering NEAR a previously 'double-click to open' link and BAM! It opens. Ads, stories I don't care about, leads I have no intention of following....all open seemingly with a mind of their own. Try to reset the stupidly required 'synaptics pointing device' to previously set parameters...OH NO! That would be too easy. First, it tells me it can't 'point' to the driver, then "It's unable to CONNECT to it, AND BONUS! : 'Windows process RUNDLL32 HAS STOPPED WORKING! MAN," do I hate Windows...KNEW I should have stuck it out for a MacBook Pro... a little help?:mad:http://images.techguy.org/smilies/confused.gif
