Hi , My laptop has all of a sudden started running very slow! Anything in widows explorer seems to take forever for example when hitting start and typing say downloads in it gets stuck at d then 30 seconds later the rest of the word will appear.

I first noticed a problem when on startup Avast antivirus came with an error saying it couldnt be opened and the slowness of the laptop.

Ive run malware bytes and spybot s&d. I also re-installed avast and it seems to be working and it didnt find anything. IVe also tried to use system restore but it fails. I also tried following your sticky but hijackthis has an error saying it cannot access the host file!

Im hoping somebody can help me out!

Sorry for delayed response. Forums have been really busy. If you still need help with this do following, please.

Download DDS and save it to your desktop from here or here or here.
Disable any script blocker, and then double click dds file to run the tool.
    • When done, DDS will open two (2) logs:
      1. DDS.txt
      2. Attach.txt
    • Save both reports to your desktop. Post them back to your topic.
