Vista Volume/Sound Mixer Levels Aren't Adjustable

    Hi there everyone,

    After trying to solve this problem which sounds like a easy adjustment, this tech is pulling his hair out over Vista again.

    Anyhow, here's the problem. Anytime I try to adjust the volume level in Vista sound mixer the volume level bar for a program, headphones etc it will just automatically side back down to the bottom of the device/program volume bar. I also noticed when I try to adjust one device or program volume level all device/program volume bars go up together, rather then just the one I'm trying to adjust.

    I have been goggling for answers to this problem for hours now, so I need some advise.


    BTW I attached a screen shot of what my volume mixer always shows so you can see what I am talking about.
