My vostro 1700 has vista. I recently upgraded from AVG 7.0 to AVG 8.0. My wireless works well at home and at work. However, visiting my son, my wirelss will not work at his house. He has netgear, similar to what I have at my home. I get the message - The settings saved on this computer do not match the requirements of the network. The onlhy thing that has changed since I last visted him in May (when it worked) is my upgrade of AVG.

Well the setting that you have saved on your computer for that specific network do not match up with the settings for the wireless on the router, is not correct then. If he has the wireless password protected, double check the password and the encryption type.

Thanks for this information - we'll try it when he gets home.
