Hi Folks- My wife is trying to write a short story on Microsoft Vista works word processor. The margin settings keep changing as she writes, no matter how many times she changes them back, they won't stay on the settings she has chosen....also after 2-3 pages of written text, the whole screen goes blank and she loses everything she has written. Any help would be greatly appreciated (before she throws her new computer through the wall.

Thanks - bill [EMAIL addr removed by mod.]

First, remove your e-mail address immediately. Click edit under your first post and you can then delete it.

    Second, welcome to TSG! :)

Third, Works-doesn't, I'd get Open Office. You can download the whole office suite free.
    http://www.openoffice.org/

It is compatible with MS office files by saving document as word type file.

I removed your email address because we do help only on the open forum here and because it will just result in you getting more spam.

If she insists on using Works at least encourage her to save her work periodically--about every half page or 10 minutes. For obvious reasons one should always save periodically or set the application to save automatically at set intervals.
