    This is probably a really simple question, but I'm just starting out with VB.. What I want to know is how to launch an external program from within my program, for example when I click a button launch say explorer?

    To start Calculator in Windows 95 via VB code:

    Private Sub Command1_Click()
    Shell "C:\Windows\Explorer.exe", vbNormalFocus
    End Sub

    That will start explorer when you click the button. You can change the second argument (vbNormalFocus) if you want it maximized or minimized or whatever. Also, of course, you need to make sure the path is correct.
