I'm sure many of you, especially our older members like Crumb and JH take vitamins and supplements. Anyway, I was wondering what types of vitamins and supplements all of you take and for what purpose and where do you find them (i.e., the best price) and do they work?

I take the following daily (some twice daily):

    Type . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Purpose:

    B-Complex. . . . . . . . . . . . . Energy/Stress
    B-12 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .Energy/Stress
    MultiVitamin. . . . . . . . . . . . Multi-purpose
    L-Lysine. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .Amino Acid
    DHEA. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .Fountain of Youth
    St. John's Wort. . . . . . . . . . Emotional Well Being/Stress
    Omega 3. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .Fish Oil--3 essential fatty acids
    Saw Palmetto. . . . . . . . . . . Prostate (male's only!)
    Kava Kava. . . . . . . . . . . . . .Calming effects
    Yohimbe. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Fat Burner
    Accidophilous. . . . . . . . . . . .Digestion
    Calcium. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .Bones/joints (important for women!)
    Valerian Root. . . . . . . . . . . .Sleep aid
    Glucosamine/Chondroitan. . . .Joints/cartilage

I find the cheapest place to get them is at Walmart. In fact, most on-line sites are considerably more expensive.

There are a all kinds of supplements now promising increased sexual performance [again, Crumb and JH would benefit ;)], weight loss, hair growth, fountain of youth, and the list goes on and on. I’m curious if anyone has found anything that really works. My experience with Glucosamine/Chondroitan is it really does work to help with joint pain and I see it now being prescribed a lot by orthopedists (I review medical records on a regular basis in my job).

    Lol Mulder. :)

Are you sure this post ain't a ploy to pick up some
clients that might get sued for their semi-medical
    "recommendations"? :D

Just kiddin' (kinda), even the manufacturers don't
make claims without a disclaimer on the bottle...

    :D :D :D :D Mulder: :D :D :D :D

    { Can't wait for CQ to see this post of Mulders!:p }

    Try these instead Mulder:

For the Energy & Stress: 5000 mg of "Mothers Little Helpers" per Hour
For the Amnio Acid: "Blotter" every 5 minutes
For the Calming Effect: "Ludes" every 10 minutes
For the Joints: Try the herbal kind!
For the Sleep Aid: Try sleeping with the Mrs. now & then!

    This concludes my reply Mulder!

I don't take any prescriptions, at least not on a regular basis. But what vitamins/supplements are you not suppose to take with what prescriptions?

Also, I'm curious if you're a healthnut, what vitamins/supplements you take?
