We know nothing about the computer you're trying to view a movie in, so please do the following in it:

Download and save the tsginfo.exe file.
After it's been downloaded and saved, double-click it to run it.
Information about your computer will appear.
Return here to your thread, then copy-and-paste the ENTIRE text here.

Are you using VLC Media Player 3.0.10 (most current version) to try to view that movie?

Please click on tsginfo.exe in Frank's (flavallee's) post and follow his instructions there.

a downloaded movie
There is no guarantee that what you've downloaded is in great condition for the entire length of the video.

It could be the video and not the player with the issue.

And again, with the hardware specs of the PC in question, no one can really help. Also of importance, are the file specs.

Most likely, you are trying to play files that your hardware cannot play (ie: read or decode fast enough).

You can try the built-in video player of Any Video Converter. I have some h264 videos that can not be played by media players, so I tried Any Video Converter to play the video and it worked.

If you are trying to play 4K or full HD video on an HD monitor, it will cause issues as you described.
