Bought a voodoo 5 500 pci card off e-bay auction but can not get resolution above 640x480. My comp is a apricot LS 500 P2 MMX 233, mother board is a lightning. I disabled on board graphics with jumper setting J1 to position 1-2 loaded drivers but when I try to move resolution pointer in windows it will not move. I wonder if the card has a defect. Any help on this matter will be a great help.

You have disabled the onboard graphics ?

Mmmm, i'll double check this but i think you'll need it to run Windows as your voodoo 5 is a dedicated 3d card as opposed to 2d which is what windows is !

All is not lost though as you can run both, i do with my, ahem, voodoo 2. Is there no reference in the manual to linking them up (passthrough) ?

voodoo 5 was 2d/3d accelerator, not just 3d.

Try to reinstall the drivers, it doesn't sound like they took.

Thanks for the help, yesI think there is a problem with the drivers. I get an error message, incomplete files or somthing like that as they are loading. Going to try to get new driver disk.
