VPN question

I have Securenet VPN (Avast) and I thought my IP address would be protected. However Nordvpn can see my address even after I change my site.
I thought my address would not be visible but if NordVPN can see it then others can see it too.
Is this the way VPN works?

I kinda doubt that you are using a proxy service to access another proxy service. But if you are, the first one is not really working.
