OkieDokie! Very frustrated as I cannot figure out how to remove the following error from the desktop at work.

"The following error occurred while trying to load the VSERVER.
Error 6256: The server was configured for user-level access control, but the microsoft network security provider was not found."

The PC has Win98 and has gone from cable internet access to dial-up.

Also, the irritating and annoying Network Password screen pops up on each boot as well.

But I know someone out there has the answer! Bless you and thank you for sharing your expertise. :) Moonifa

I had a similar problem on my Windows 98 OS.I solved it by going to the control panel ,select the Network button, then choose the"File and Printing Sharing" button, and UNCHECK all the options there.Restart your PC.
    I hope this help you.
