Microsoft finally got me to answer a new window that popped up asking for a Admin Password. Well...what can say, I had a weak moment and put my favorite password into the blank box. For about 5 years this PC has been working relatively trouble free.

Now this “Idiot” pc will not let me logon no matter what form of password I put into the box. This is the Admin Logon window.

I am almost at the point of reformating the hard drive, however I thought of another angle to attack this problem. Of course I never created an ERD while the Win2K was running fne. So I'm left to other creative approaches.

Fortunately, this pc is equipped with a changeable hard drive drawer and I have Win95 and Win XP installed on two other hard drives.

Questions? Can I format the hard drive of the Win XP drive and reinstall Win2000 to generate a brand new ERD? Then I can finally plug this floppy in to salvage my problem hard drive with Win2000.

Q? is all this worth the trouble? Will the ERD actually help me reclaim the pc and allow me to reset Admin password??? Or do I really need to give up and reformat the problem hard disk with Win2000?

Fortunately, I have been able to copy files off this problem drive through the use of a USB adpater onto another pc.

    HELP!!!
