I think there is a major problem with exporer or something. but it seems to be linked with display. when I boot the computer takes up to 15 mins to load the backround and then continues to be frozen for another 15mins. Making the wallpaper blank has fixed this problem. however some of my games arent working and i feel the problem is far form being resolved.

Im thinking it may be one of the programs working in the backround that is causing Windows to freeze. The game that dosnt work opens with a digitaly animated video which would reguire a great deal of video mem, i have a 3DFx card & have never had trouble with the game before. Frinkly im boggled,

    Hi,

Have you tried re-loading the video driver for your 3Dfx card? Failing that, try going into msconfig and removing some of the programs from Startup. This should help you to diagnose which application is causing a problem (possibly Anti-virus software).

If you post the contents of your Startup here, then some of the Forum members might be able to tell you which application could be the culprit.

    Good Luck,

    Columbo:)
