I scanned and saved some family photos then set them as my wallpaper. Prior to this I had chosen the "DaVinci" theme for my desktop-saving some of the icons that I liked, replacing others that I didn't. That theme comes with a brownish background color as its wallpaper, and now as my computer is starting up it is there for quite a while before my pictures appear. Is that more taxing on resources than necessary? Can/should I do something to make the move to my choice of wallpaper happen more quickly?

    Hiya

This DaVinci theme that you asked for: Is this the change in colour of Windows? Just tried looking in my Display, but couldn't see it. Also, which OS are you using?

having pictires as your wallpaper will be a rescource hog, as Windows will have to load them up. Also, if you change any of the icons to another picture, this can take a while.

What we can have a look at in the meantime is your startup programs.

Go to Run and type MSINFO32. If you get an error, go to programs | Accessories | System Tools | System Information.
On the left choose Software Enviroment, then Startup Programs. Copy/paste here. If you cannot, go to Action | Save as Text file and copy/paste that way.

    Regards
