AMD k6-2, asus p5a-b super 7 mother, after a period of time, depending upon what program you use, VERY loud buzzing comes from case. today got message of error in power mngmt. went into c-mos, power mgmnt, error code on chassis fan speed [xxxxrpm], cpu fan speed [xxxxrpm] err, power fan speed [xxxxrpm] err. Also, cpu temp 68*c/154*f err. question, aren't there supposed to be settings for fans, & if so, how and to what? Also, cpu temp? Puter today is locking up, sometimes unlocking itself after a bit, usuall totally unresponsive, must shut down hard. Haven't had any real problems till this mess. Anything, anyone? P.S. this is different puter from my post on no comm ports. Thank You!!

Hi dougl5

It sounds like the processor fan is running slow and the processor is overheating and causing lockups. I would get the fan replaced ASAP before your processor goes. I think the fans will always show errors if you are not using a fan with a sensor on it plugged into the motherboard but the CPU temp is built into the motherboard so if it shows an error believe it.
