I've been getting spammed with this for the past few hours, it's pretty big (~150k). I'm not 100% sure it's a virus, but I know Microsoft doesn't e-mail its users patches, and the e-mail accounts being used to send the e-mail are fake. Be warned!

Bill, I was just reading about that new one.....funny you should mention it........could be :)

May present the user with dialog boxes that pretend to be a "Microsoft Internet Update Pack."

If anyone gets another one, forward it to me :D I like new challenges :)

Candy...I'll forward the sneaky text to you, but the .exe attachment has been quarantined by my ZAP. I'm frankly doubtful the attachment will come.

THIS IS A "HEADS-UP" THAT I"M SENDING IT

Luckly I don't open attachments :) I have no desire to find out what is hiding behind that exe file. NAV didn't catch it, but then again, I forgot I had it disabled because I was testing game problems (see the games forum :))

Candy...I tried to forward it twice and both times I get:

The following addresses had delivery problems:

<[email protected]>
Permanent Failure: Other address status
Delivery last attempted at Fri, 19 Sep 2003 02:14:51 -0000

Bad e-mail address?

It is on it's way. The attached file is 106kb and probably is useless. ZoneAlarm changes the file extension, but does not delete it. Let me know if you need anything else. :)

Can you right click on the mail > select properties > details > message source? I'm not sure this is what you are seeking.

I did that on the two I got, but did not reconize any names.
