    Hey folks.

I'm new here, I would like to watch movies from my laptop to TV in the living room.

The only solution I know right now is the Wireless Media Stick from www.hsti.com

I'm looking for some alternatives for comparison.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

    Bruce

Your system was un-patched for years, and the service pack update didn't go smoothly. It's highly likely the system has a malware problem. A clean install of Windows is the best approach.

    Yep. Wrong thread.

What file format are the movies in? Why not just put them on a flash drive and connect that directly to the TV or DVD player?

I know it may not be as elegant a solutions as the one you are looking for but I normaly hook my laptop and TV together via HDMI when I want to watch something on the big screen.

There relly is nothing inelegant about connecting the laptop to the TV with an HDMI Cable.. I use my laptop as my HTPC all the time. And I can also use the laptop to do normal coputer tasks on a 60" DLP from 15 feet away:)
