My newer monitor Syncmaster 906BW worked perfectly well until I had a problem with updates that exceeded the remaining hard drive space and then could not boot out of Safe Mode with Networking. The computer was restored to good working order but since then (since I hooked everything back up) the monitor has been waving up and down, especially on web pages (Firefox the worst) - I have tried the refresh rate and checked the drivers (it still does it in Safe Mode with Networking), changed the mouse, unhooked and rehooked it up, etc etc with no results.
This is driving me insane.

chicken: Take the side off the PC and look very carefully at all the capacitors on the Mobo and the video card if you have one.
Any swelling or evidence of leakage would indicate that the capacitor is going bad.

Reseat the memory and the video card.

I ran into this problem once and finally decided that the mobo was shot, but that decision was not followed because the customer decided to buy another PC.
