I just got high speed Internet and I connected it to my Dell desktop computer running windows 7 model (inspiron 560) processor (intel (r) celeron cpu 450 2.20ghz 64bit operating system and it's connected but my Web browsers (Google chrome and Internet Explorer) won't work. They act like they're tryna load but it doesnt. It jus says page cannot be displayed. The century link technical support guy said it's not the Internet because he command prompted a ping and Google said hi back. I'm not sure what to do.

Control Panel - Internet Options - Connections tab - LAN Settings - make sure none of the three options are selected (unless, of course, you really are using a proxy).

Make sure you don't have a firewall (or security suite) blocking your browsers.
