Recently created a web page using Front Page that contained videos. After uploading to my web site and testing, I discovered that the videos would not run under Firefox. It did run properly under Internet Explorer.

Is there a way of putting videos in a web page that is browser independent?

My guess is you're using an IE specific control to play the video. If you really want something approaching cross-platform, you'll need to convert the videos to a flash video format (flv) and put them in a player, similar to how youtube does videos - than any browser with Flash can play them.

If nothing else, you can put a simple text link to the avi file, so that people can download and play it in whatever player they want.

Thanks for the reply.

BTW how do I specify a text link to an avi file that will run it rather than try to download it?
