Webcam is not working with Yahoo messenger

My webcam is not working with Yahoo messenger. I am using a Toshiba M500 laptop with XP OS, I recently took a new USb webcam with plug and play feature. In my system it is showing my image, but with yahoo messenger, it says no Webcam found.
Please suggest that do i need to install some driver for yahoo messenger or some other ways?
