I have found two specific websites that do not work on my computer. I will try on another computer in my house, and they work fine.

    They are www.paypal.com and www.amazon.com

Any tips to fix this? The fastest and easiset would be the preferable choice. I am using AVG Virus software - and MS Anti Spyware.

check the hosts file to make sure there is no entries other than 127.0.0.1 localhost if so delete all other lines.

Host file can be found at %windir%\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

    Walker,

Thank you so much...that worked PERFECTLY! I cannot thank you enough. Please let me know your first name, and I will be sure to name my next child after you.

    I have another issue....

Whenever I open up multiple browsers (IE 6, SP2), the previous browsers shut down. If a site has a pop up, or opens into a new window, the home page closes, etc. I have been infected with spyware in the past.....but that is the only issue that remains.

    Any hints?

Whenever I open up multiple browsers (IE 6, SP2), the previous browsers shut down. If a site has a pop up, or opens into a new window, the home page closes, etc. I have been infected with spyware in the past.....but that is the only issue that remains.
You problably have the max amount of windows open at that time. Close other open windows.

Also I suggest you check some of the O4 - HKLM\..\Run: entries you do not need to run at startup you have alot of applications in memory eating up ram

try msconfig click startup test by unchecking entries and rebooting and see if you can live without it. When finished record all unchecked entries and then enable them. Start HJT and check those entries and click fix.

Since this site frowns upon P2P I will have to warn you the risks of the limewire P2P application on your computer such as spyware, viruses, hackers, etc.

Okay - I removed some that I knew I didnt need there.

However, my browser still replaces itself whenever a new browser opens.

    Download CWShredder http://www.trendmicro.com/ftp/products/online-tools/cwshredder.exe

When prompted, choose to save the file to a convenient location on your hard disk
When the download is complete, navigate to the folder that contains the downloaded cwshredder file, and run it
The cwshredder interface will be displayed
Click Create Report and post results in thread close browser
Bring cwshredder application window into focus and click back
Click fix and follow the above warning and close all open applications
