What virus is AVG identifying, and what is the location?

Try running the CoolWebShredder, CWShredder.exe from the site below; have it fix problems and reboot.

    http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/downloads.html

Check and fix this item in the Scanlog if it remains:

    R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://server224.smartbotpro.net/7search/?new-hklm

Also it looks like you have this:

    http://www.pestpatrol.com/PestInfo/o/overnet.asp

It may be a factor in your problems.

    See also: http://www.trendmicro.com/vinfo/virusencyclo/default5.asp?VName=TROJ_REVOP.A

and try running Trend's HouseCall: http://housecall.antivirus.com/

This worked for my mate - it should work for you!
    1. Delete pup.exe - use find to identfy where it is and delete
    2. Rei-install Media Player and be sure to delete the leftovers when you uninstall! If you run meda player again, you will be re-infected by the pup.exe file!

3.Im not sure if there is a link between the virus and thre pop-up problem, Id get the latest spybot S+D and ad-aware and do deep scans!

    Hope this helps!
