I have a bit of an unusual problem. Im running windows Xp pro and it seems now that when i start my computer up it seems to lock at the welcome user screen. It sits there with the cursor for quite a while and then i eventually restart it. After a few restarts it proceeds normally but i cant figure out why it is doing this.

I know this isnt alot of information but if anyone could give me an idea what could cause something like this to happen in general that would be great. Any help is appreciated.

Is there any hard drive "activity" while it seems to be locked up...?

Have you checked in the Event Log for error messages that might help us in resolving this...?

    Lemme' know.....

I had a joypad installed in a USB port that made my system do a silmilar sort of thing. I unplugged the joypad (Microsoft SideWinder), and after that all is well. Also, is your RAM ok? Check in your BIOS to make sure it is configured correctly.

    Good luck............
