I will have a used Linksys E2500 router in a few days, and I believe I have found what I will need for its firmware upgrade (if it needs one).

For a DSL connection, I have two Westell modems (one to use and one for backup). One is an older Verizon-branded 6100, and the other is a new 6200 I have just received from AT&T. I have AT&T DSL, and each modem has been connected at AT&T and works fine.

My first problem here is that I have not been able to do a firmware upgrade for the older 6100, and I had read the Linksys will need the 6100 to have been upgraded. I have downloaded the correct file from Verizon to try to do the upgrade that way, I have tried Verizon's online upgrade, and one of the Support Techs at AT&T has even tried to help me a bit there...but I cannot get the job done. So, how can I get that 6100 upgrade completed? Right now it runs to a little over 60%, then I get some kind of error and it will not complete.

Any suggestions?

Many thanks.

Update: One of these firmware upgrade files is from Verizon and the other is from AT&T:

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5489953/E99-610030_VER_3_08_02.upg

Each shows a different error when I try to install it, and an AT&T Support Tech says AT&T no longer offers support for upgrading the 6100 and has no way to push either of those files. So, does anyone here know how I might be able to modify or fix either to upgrade the Verizon-branded 6100 I want to have as a backup for my AT&T connection?

Many thanks.
