    I keep getting this Windows File Protection Error. And it says:
    "Files that are required for Windows to run properly have been replaced by unrecognized versions. To maintain system stability, Windows must restore the original versions of these files.

    Insert your Windows XP Professional Service Pack 1 CD now."
    I put in the cd but it does nothing. The errors persists in comming up except for when I have my XP cd in the drive. But as I said before, It does nothing while in the drive, except bring up the XP menu.

    put the CD in the drive, and at command prompt ( Run..) type "SFC /SCANNOW" note the space before the / This might solve your problem.
