What a great forum!

    My last post to this forum was in April 2006.
    I have been and am still a heavy user of good old XP, augmented by iPhone and iPad use for mobility.

    Yesterday, my XP browsers (FF, IE & Chrome) all stopped working. Of course, with a rock solid OS like XP, I have forgotten all of the technicalities re IP addressing, DNS servers and that good stuff.

    But I did remember Tech Support Guy. So here I am again.

    Within 30 minutes I had diagnosed and fixed my problem. It had to do with the use of a free utility called "Advanced SystemCare", that does everything in the kitchen sink. AND THEN SOME.

    I found the following post and followed the easy instructions:

    This worked like a charm and I am back in business with my trusty Firefox 8.0 on my first XP machine.

    In these days of cataclysmic change it is just great to be able to come back to this excellent forum, where stability and good sense reign supreme..
